They say you can’t get elected if the press doesn’t like you. Candidate Bush: generally affable and well-liked by the press. Gore: Stiff and standoffish, so hated by the press. Gore gets bad distorted press, Bush gets forgiving press (from the SCLM no less), and Bush gets sworn in as President.

Sarah and I went to Target yesterday. At least I think we went to Target. It’s quite possible that when we walked through the automatic doors we left our reality behind and entered a feverish nightmare shared by George “1984” Orwell and Anthony “Clockwork Orange” Burgess.
