New Movie Reviews

New on the Anvil & Sprocket:
The feminist teen-slasher flick “Slumber Party Massacre”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/review.php?rec=174 and the new Pauly Shore flick “Pauly Shore is Dead”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/review.php?rec=173.
Also, I’m digging on Roger Ebert’s review of “Deuce Bigalow II”:http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050811/REVIEWS/50725001. On Schneider’s full-page ads attacking Patrick Goldstein’s general distate for Rob Schneider, which read:
bq. Well, Mr. Goldstein, I decided to do some research to find [...]

Never give up, never surrender

“Shannon at Egotistical Whining”:http://animeg.blogspot.com/2005/08/ive-never-seen-dvd-of-month-club.html reminded me “of this winner of a post”:http://www.thudfactor.com/textpattern/1160/attack-wingnut-friendly-fire — Marc at the “USS Neverdock” pointing to pictures of Fred Phelps and bloviating about how this proves liberals are pro-terrorist. Now, when I last checked in on this post, it had a list of comments as long as my arm calling him a moron, [...]

Some Congressman from Texas wants to rename 16th Street Northwest[2] “Ronald Reagan Boulevard.” Of course, Washington DC taxpayers would have to pay for the [...]

Random Ten, Reinstall Edition

New computer, new OS. I have to reinstall all my crap. Here’s this week’s random ten:
# Here Today — The Beach Boys
# Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is — Chicago (setting the bar high for Meatloaf in the title length department)
# Perfect Disguise — Modest Mouse
# Finest Worksong — REM (A Superlative Block of Superlatives!)
# Omega Point — Cybajaz
# Oh! Darling — George Benson (covering the [...]

Tracking packages I order is great fun, especially if they are coming via ground, and very especially if they are coming from the other end of the country. FedEx is the best, with greatest detail and most frequent updates. UPS is possibly the worst, with practically no information provided in-transit. The USPS often gets packages [...]
