Favorite movie reviews
November 30, 2005
Every so often I like to go through the movie reviews on Anvil and Sprocket (coming up on our fifth year!) and chuckle at all the pain my brother and I have been through. Here are some of my favorite reviews:
* “Nazca”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/index.php?mode=review&rec=139 — When [Tate] finally tries to kill Miura, Miura and Kiritake are forced to admit the obvious, to wit: _Tate is the reincarnated spirit of Incan warrior Yawaru._
* “Eye of the Serpent”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/index.php?mode=review&rec=175 — The movie you just imagined in your head? It is undoubtedly better than the movie actually is.
* “Slumber Party Massacre”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/index.php?mode=review&rec=174 — If you’re only going to see one slasher film this year, for God’s sake don’t let it be this one.
* “From Dusk ‘Till Dawn”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/index.php?mode=review&rec=69 — I would watch it again, but I don’t think eyes grow back from being clawed out.
* “The Man Who Haunted Himself”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/index.php?mode=review&rec=181 — Moore brings a real subtlety to looking puzzled that few actors can match. I think it comes naturally to him.
* “FeardotCom”:http://www.anvilandsprocket.com/index.php?mode=review&rec=88 — The basic premise of the movie is that a lot of Hollywood execs got together at a bar, had a few vodka martinis, did a few lines of coke, and then started talking about how there was this “interweb” thing and they should really try to get a horror flick out of it. Wait. That’s not the premise of the movie - that’s how the movie got made. My bad.
