Guess Ten, Zombie edition

Date May 19, 2006

The Friday Guess Ten has clawed its way out of the grave and is coming to EAT YOUR BRAINS.

In case you’ve forgotten how this game works (or this is your first time here), I provide a lyric and you give me the artist and track. For bonus points, tell me how much you hate song #9, and why. I bet you don’t hate it as much as I do. Although, frankly, I hate #10 twice as much. It’s kind of a burning, seething, festering hatred. I don’t believe that _anybody_ feels the way I do about that song.

Oh, yeah. And *BRAIIIIIINS!*

# Cherrelle (or Robert Palmer), “I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On” [ "CT":http://populationstatistic.com/ ] -When I took you out, I knew what you were all about.-
# The Tubes, “She’s a Beauty” [ "Solonor":http://solonor.com/blogger.html ] -You can look inside another world, you get to talk to a pretty girl.-
# So I’ll propose on Halloween.
# Could be a winner boy, you move quite well.
# Weezer, “Beverly Hills” [ Mari ] -Take my picture by the pool, ’cause I’m the next big thing.-
# Advertising looks and chops a must.
# It’s been so long since you’ve been a friend of mine.
# Neko Case, “Fox Confessor Brings the Flood” [ "Other Fred":http://www.fredline.com/ ] -I flooded my sleeves as I drove home again.-
# Goo Goo Dolls, “Iris” [ "Fred":http://www.unreality.net/kaleidotrope/ ] -When everything’s made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am.-
# Oasis, “Wonderwall” [ "Fred":http://www.unreality.net/kaleidotrope/ ] -Because maybe you’re gonna be the one who saves me.-

    2. Is by the Tubes — One In A Million Girls?
    10. Is that “Waterwall” song — Oasis? I just know I heard it a gazillion times on the radio.

MEL, on both you have the artist right but not the title.

The song title on #10 is “Wonderwall.”

#9 is “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls.

Numbah One: Cherrelle, “I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On”. Or the Robert Plant cover, if you prefer (and I don’t).

Hating the Goo Goo Dolls? Wayyyyyy too easy.

Am I seeing double vision here? There’s a second, first-draft-like version of this post directly below this comment box.

Dammit, I meant “Robert Palmer”. No Zepplin version of that song.

“Hating” is not something I see as a challenge. Otherwise, you are correct sir.

#5 has to be Weezer’s Beverly Hills. That’s a fun song-the video shows the Playmates not getting the lyrics right and the natural, pretty Weezer fan girls that will never make it back to the Mansion knowing every word.

I forgot to mention I despise all things Goo Goo Dolls! I dig Oasis (sorry).
My boyfriend is a sound engineer, he had something to do with one of their cd’s-I hate them so much I don’t even ask him about it. He’s got a poster of them up on one of the lounge walls-I thank the stars it’s above eye level but I still know it’s there.
