Bays Mountain
February 22, 2005
We made a quick trip to Southwest Virginia this weekend (instead of sitting around playing _World of Warcraft_ like we usually do). While there I picked up both a tripod and a monopod for my camera and went out to the nearby “Bays Mountain Park”:http://www.baysmountain.com/ in Kingsport, Tennessee. “Here are the results”:http://images.thudfactor.com/gallery/bayes205.
Most of the raptors were in enclosures that made it difficult to photograph, but one of the rangers brought out a camera-loving kestrel. I also got a few nice shots of one of their sleeping grey wolves.
The framing could be better on all of the pictures, but hey — I was learning how to use new equipment.

The pic of the handler and kestrel that’s framed “just right” looks great, man.
Good luck with the new equipment – I’ve been thinking about picking up a tripod, too.
