OK, so I’m doing the get-a-free-ipod thing. Basically, if you haven’t heard about it, the way it works is like this: you sign up for one of several services (you can cancel if you like) including a subscription to the New York Times, trying out Blockbuster’s new by-mail rental service, a coffee subscription, etc, then get five friends to do the same thing. When five friends do the same thing, you get your iPod.

Yeah I was suspicious too. But I’m hearing enoigh “it really works” — and there are enoigh big names involved — that I’m convinced it’s on the level.
