Happy Thanksgiving!
Here in the US it’s Thanksgiving. Actually, it’s Thanksgiving all over the world if you’re American or a displaced American. The Elf and I are not travelling until the weekend to visit family — today we are just going to have dinner with some good friends. One thing I am thankful for today: I do not have to cook this year’s turkey. Another thing I am thankful for today: the gentleman who will be cooking today’s turkey is also aware of how to properly brine the bird.
The end of NaNoWriMo is coming up — 50,000 words in one month. My performance so far has been pretty pathetic — about 8.400 words. The problem this year is a little different from the last several attempts. The last few times I simply couldn’t come up with anything to write about that didn’t bore me. This time I have lots of ideas to get down on paper, but inertia and — when not inertia — distractions have kept me from actually getting the work done.
Hopelessly behind or not, I’m still going to give it one last push, though. If I come through the finish line, I assure you — you’ll be able to tell.
