Wednesday cat blogging

Oh, I should probably put up a picture with this. But really, I just have a cat-related question. My cats seem drawn to warm surfaces, like receiver cabinets, digital cable boxes, and the like.
They tend to ingore these surfaces when cold, but leap upon them pretty quickly when they warm up. Can cats see into the infra-red spectrum? Can they *see* that something is hot?

I can’t answer your question, but I know my friend has a really cool cat gadget from Japan which is a piece of material which reflects body heat. The cat loves sleeping on it!

From a quick search on Google, I can’t find any info on cats having infrared vision. Only certain snakes seem to.
It’s probably just that cats’ instincts are so fine-tuned to finding warm places, and they don’t get distracted by silly things like work and presidential debates.
