One down, several billion to go

This morning I finished Half Life 2 making it — as near as I can tell — the only first-person shooter I’ve ever played through to completion. I’ve been playing them since my college buddies hooked up Doom on the local network. But I’m also terrible at them, and that’s one reason I never finish them.

Half Life 2 had something going for it a lot of other games haven’t had, though — good storytelling. I wanted to finish the game so I could see the end of the story. Of course, now I have to get started on Episodes 1 and 2, since the story didn’t end…

Anyway, no serious content here. I just beat a game, and that happens so rarely I wanted to pause for a second and relish it. Even if I did do it on the “easy” level.
