Aid to terrorists

Joy! Apparently we liberals have gone from being “objectively pro-terrorist” (where our opposition to “anti-terrorist” measures make terrorists feel good) to being just plain-old “pro-terrorist,” as in actively collaborating with terrorists. Of course, there aren’t any names named.

Except over at Digby’s place, where he ponders Grover Norquist’s and Dana Rohrabacher’s (R-CA) ties to the Taliban.

Like Atrios, I’m also wondering why no one has bothered to explain why we liberals are busy co-ordinating with terrorists. I mean, I’m opposed to summary executions, torture, and the theocratic state. And I believe in gay rights, a woman’s right to choose to carry a child to term, and the right of citizens to criticize their government. Terrorists of the Islamic fundamentalist stripe tend to take the opposite positions on these issues.

I mean, don’t you think if the Taliban was looking for American allies they’d find more sympathetic ears than Barbara Streisand?
