DeLay facing indictment
March 30, 2004
I don’t know if it got lost in the excitement over Clarke, but practically none of my friends have heard that Tom DeLay is facing indictment for violation of Texas campaign finance laws. (membership or willingness to watch ads required). If indicted, he might have to step down as Majority Leader DeLay says the charges are thanks to Austin District Attorney Ronnie Earl, whom Delay described as “vindictive and partisan.” Imagine that.
Of course, we all know that spending $50 million on Whitewater so you can impeach a president for a blow job is good government and important defense of principle. But a DA investigating campaign finance law violations and then indicting someone over campaign finance law violations? That’s vindictive and partisan!
Of course, you can expect DeLay to fight the DA tooth-and-nail over this; conviction carries the Death penalty, which in Texas is carried out immediately by rabid armadillos, yea, even to the seventh generation.

ok, you’re forgetting one vital thing: democrats are vindictive and partisan, republicans are patriotic. try to remember that in the future. ;-)
