Farm bill
April 15, 2008
I know, I know. All you ever hear about when you turn on the news is the farm bill. What the candidates are saying about the farm bill, how much the farm bill costs, whether or not farm subsidies are necessary given the fact that farmers are making record profits, and how even non-farmers qualify for farm subsidies. Nevertheless, Bill Moyers somehow thinks this over-reported issue about our national infrastructure and well-being hasn’t yet been beaten to death this election cycle, so he feels the need to spend a whole hour on it.
You know what I wish? I wish we had three or four twenty-four hour trivial news channels so we could all snark about something someone said. This whole “endangered food supply” crap is a real downer.

Like, oh my GAWD! I know exactly what you mean! Enough with this policy crap already. “Farm bill” this and “subsidies” that. Geez, it’s not like people are rioting over food prices or anything.
It’s enough to make me bitter.

Yes! More fluff! I don’t have cable because there’s not enough fluff on.
