Racing to the bottom of the heap
January 31, 2007
Until about five minutes ago, my least favorite candidate in this race was Hillary. Not any more:
Biden on Obama:
bq. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man. But—and the “but was clearly inevitable—he doubts whether American voters are going to elect “a one-term, a guy who has served for four years in the Senate, and added: “I don’t recall hearing a word from Barack about a plan or a tactic. [ "New York Observer":http://www.observer.com/20070205/20070205_Jason_Horowitz_pageone_newsstory1.html ]
Good for the black man that he’s well-spoken and bathes. Yikes.
On Edwards:
bq. “John Edwards wants you and all the Democrats to think, ‘I want us out of there,’ but when you come back and you say, ‘O.K., John’—here, the word “John became an accusatory, mocking refrain—“‘what about the chaos that will ensue? Do we have any interest, John, left in the region?’ Well, John will have to answer yes or no. If he says yes, what are they? What are those interests, John? How do you protect those interests, John, if you are completely withdrawn? Are you withdrawn from the region, John? Are you withdrawn from Iraq, John? In what period? So all this stuff is like so much Fluffernutter out there. So for me, what I think you have to do is have a strategic notion. And they may have it—they are just smart enough not to enunciate it.
He might have fair criticism, but being dismissive and patronizing probably isn’t called for at this stage. In the Biden-Hillary matchup, I think I’d have to go with Hillary.

Yikes. I haven’t been reading much about Biden, but now I will; sounds like he might be even more unelectable than Hillary. Edwards and Obama: that’s the ticket.

I don’t want to hear any more name-calling from desperate candidate wanna-be’s.
I haven’t picked a candidate yet, but do like Edwards. When it’s all said and done, I’ll go with “whoever ain’t Republican,” but I don’t want to see the Dems tearing each other up to get to the top! Just tell me why you’re the best…not why the other candidate is not suitable.
As for ol’ Joe….your attacks on a fellow Dem just pushed you to the bottom of my wish list for 2008. And if you want to know where the bottom is - it’s just below GARY HART!

Yeah, I think Biden probably really put his foot in it this time; I read some more of that interview and another, and the man sounds genuinely arrogant.
I also like how Barak announced his “plan or tactic”:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/30/AR2007013001586.html last night. I think Biden will find it difficult to talk with both feet in his mouth.
