Seattle Times Endorses Kerry
August 28, 2004
…”they endorsed Bush in the last election”:http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/editorialsopinion/2002016659_kerryed27.html. Although I don’t agree with their viewpoint on, say, class warfare (they call his tax plan “class warfare” although taxing the people who have money sounds like sound economic practice to me) they do give a pretty solid argument for why moderates should vote for Kerry over Bush.
What really makes me grind my teeth though: “Certainly, the man now in office forgot some of the things he said so fetchingly four years ago.” Bush didn’t _forget_. He _never believed them_. The big difference between Gore and Bush in the last election was not so much in what they said as it that Gore meant what he said, whereas Bush generally intended to do the opposite.
