Voting against the Bradley
I see Bush is trying to paint Kerry as anti-jobs and anti-military by complaining that Kerry voted against the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, even if Bush doesn’t know what state or company makes the BFV. Factcheck.org says the only votes against the BFV Kerry made were in the context of larger Pentagon spending bills—he didn’t have a beef against the Bradley in specific.
Although I think one could have forgiven Kerry for being suspicious of the Bradley if he had voted against it. After all, when it went into production it was a combat troop carrier that could not withstand enemy fire. The Bradley today may be a good vehicle, but for most of Kerry’s term in office the Bradley was an incredibly expensive boondoggle.
