I don’t go on and on about it, but I love my apartment building. And I am pretty fond of the apartment management company as well. The building is old and it’s not a luxury dwelling at all, but the location is fantastic, the walls are solid, the rent is reasonable (for the area), and the staff very responsive to service requests.
But because the building is old we don’t have the modern convenience of being in control of our own climate control. We can change the thermostat to warmer or colder, but we can’t switch from AC to heat on our own. But the weather turned brisk only this week, and last week I was told they’d be inspecting the vents, so I expected heat soon.
Apparently, some other people in the building expected heat, well, soonest. I did not see the grafitti myself, but the management posted a note saying the heat would be on in a couple of days and if anyone would like to call the county to make sure they are within code, here was the number — and please refrain from scrawling complaints inside the elevators with magic markers.
Really. The heat issue has not been anywhere near that bad. And I’m a wimp when it comes to the thermostat.
