Maybe saving email isn’t that great of an idea…

An “article in Wired”:http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,70100-0.html clued me into the existence of “this searchable interface to Enron corporate email”:http://orange.sims.berkeley.edu/~atf/enron/enron.cgi. A few minutes searching pulls up some interesting stuff, like…er…”Enron’s email retention policy”:http://orange.sims.berkeley.edu/~atf/enron/enron.cgi?artid=232395.
bq. …Imagine if we were required to sift through and digest 12-24 months of e-mail traffic. This has happened to a number of companies in litigation the [...]

Copyright God

Hey, the Pope “now copyrights stuff”:http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,13509-2005615,00.html. It’s only Biblical:
bq. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, after they’ve paid all applicable royalties and sat through the “FBI Warning” screen. Yet the President says he has the right to be able to secretly spy on and arrest anyone he pleases — without a warrant — and people say “well, that’s what he needs [...]

The antidote to political blogs

I have twenty-six political blogs in my RSS reader. I read them all frequently. They make me frown and frequently turn me grumpy when, otherwise, I have no excuse.
Today, I also added the “Cute Overload”: weblog, which posts entries “like this”:http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2005/12/rule_of_cutenes_3.html and “this”:http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2005/12/ebony_and_ivore.html and “this”:http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2005/12/delicious.html. I think I have found an antidote.
Thanks, Meg.

Customer Service is our Middle Name

A couple of interesting stories about genuine customer service fiascos. First, via “Engadget”:http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000113033144/ Sprint’s collections department number is unfortunately close to that of a small-business map publisher.
bq. [It is nearly the same as the number of] a small business owner in the Boston area who says he’s received and logged about 8,000 calls from Sprint [...]
