A War God

!(inset)http://static.flickr.com/37/122496352_1954981cd2_m.jpg! There was a “War on Christians” conference here in Washington, DC a little while back. You may have heard something about it — this is the event where Reverend Rick Scarborough blamed all of Tom DeLay’s legal troubles on DeLay’s alledged dedication to Christianity.
Elizabeth Castelli has an “excellent piece in the Revealer”:http://www.therevealer.org/archives/main_story_002500.php about the conference, giving [...]

Why not get the law changed?

One question that’s bugged us about the President’s domestic surveilence program is this: if the law was insufficient for their needs, why not ask Congress for a change in the law?
That question has not been answered, but it has been made _obsolete_. The new question is: if the law was insufficient, why did they “oppose legislation [...]

Live music!

“Some time ago”:http://www.thudfactor.com/textpattern/index.php?id=1096 I whined about iTunes and “Kim”:http://www.thymewise.net/blog/ pointed me to the “Live Music Archive”:http://www.archive.org/audio/etree.php. Kim and her husband “Scott”:http://www.gamersnook.com/blog/ dig the LMA because of all the “Grateful Dead”:http://www.archive.org/audio/etreelisting-browse.php?collection=etree&cat=Grateful%20Dead concerts (2,775 currently) and, I’m guessing here, “Railroad Earth”:http://www.archive.org/audio/etreelisting-browse.php?collection=etree&cat=Railroad%20Earth [...]

Phone call to action

*UPDATE*: “SKB says”:http://www.southknoxbubba.net/skblog/archive_2005_01.php#3850 Barbara Boxer signed the challenge, forcing a debate on the issue. It’s doubtful that it will have any _effective_ results, but at least (some) of our representatives (but not John Kerry) are on record as being concerned about the legitimacy of votes in general.
In the comments of another thread here, “Ashley Simmons [...]

Vote early and often.

There is absolutely something funny with the vote count “according to MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann”:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6368819.
Besides the already-mentioned five counties in Florida that polled strongly Democratic turning out a Bush landslide, Olbermann says there are twenty-four others with similar problems.
In Cuyahoga County, Ohio, apparently the GOTV effort in the Spirt world was effective: 93,000 _more votes than voters_. [...]
