This is just funny. GOP Congressional candidate Kaloogian posted a street photo of a “peaceful Baghdad” on his web site supposedly taken during a recent visit, but it turns out that peaceful scene was “actually in Istanbul”:http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/008034.php.
When called out, he said it was an staffer error, and replaced it with another “peaceful” scene, this time [...]

Matthew Yglesias discusses the Focus on the Family’s seeming unconcern over Republican economic polices that endanger families. FotF says they don’t concern themselves with food stamps because they are more focused on abortion; but that doesn’t mean they think poverty issues are unimportant. Matt says:

So the Senate has reached a compromise on Bill Frist’s “Nuclear” option which clears the way for three of Bush’s blocked nominees and preserves the filibuster for use against a potential Supreme Court nominee.
