Well, Bush finally released a pile of files to try to dispell rumors that he did not fulfill his duties in the Air National Guard. They show he was paid for the period in question, but not that he ever really did what he was supposed to do. But it’s not surprising I feel that way:

The WSJ said recently — I’m paraphrasing paraphrases here* — that it is wrong that poor people don’t pay income tax. In fact, some of them don’t pay any! These “lucky duckies” — that is the WSJ’s term — aren’t pulling their weight. And furthermore, they don’t have a proper disdain for the government because they are not overtaxed.
