The distinction between passive, &#8216;environmental&#8217; architectures of control, and the unavoidable, &#8216;intelligent&#8217; ones, is a good one, you&#8217;re right &#8211; that could, indeed, be the major classification/taxonomy divide to consider. &lt;br /&gt;
I&#8217;m aware the whole concept is a bit nebulous, but I suppose what I&#8217;m asking is whether the increasing acceptance of controlling users&#8217; behaviour will lead designers, planners &#38; regulators of all kinds to consider this a &#8216;normal&#8217; way to do things: will it set precedents that will actually change our attitudes to interactions with products?&lt;/p&gt;
