The Leopard can make a new folder
October 31, 2007
I just installed OSX Leopard and one of the first things I did was open a directory window and option-click in it to get my context menu. Bless you, there’s now a “new folder” in every possible directory view. I have several irritations with OSX, but that one thing — the difficulty of creating a folder right where you wanted one — has been driving me batty ever since I switched.

Option-click? How retro. ;)

Still a necessity if I’m using the touchpad only — at least until Jobs relents and puts a second mouse button in.

My favorite thing since Oct. 26 install (aside from the fabulous shirt my husband got) is the ability to find lost files. I cannot tell you how irksome it is to know that a file exists and not be able to locate it. My daughter found photos in iPhoto that had been appearing in a screen saver picture show — but had not shown up in our last version of iPhoto. And, I am easily uncluttering by getting rid of old files without opening each one. Ahhhh — I wrote about the new stuff found during the upgrade here: http://andamom.com/?p=201
