Double-dipping MST3K fans

Date November 29, 2007

My favorite show of all time is Mystery Science Theater 3000, and I have a shelf in my media center dedicated to the sets and individual DVDs. I purchase each set as it is released, especially since The Volume 10 appeared, then disappeared, from store shelves due to a copyright dispute.

Well, according to Hugh at Deep Ape, volume 10 is being re-released with a different movie in place of the disputed Godzilla film. Which is nice, but if I want that other movie in my collection I’ll have to pay $50 for what amounts to a single MST3K episode. Nice.

So far Rhino has been refusing to release this added film as an individual purchase, but I’m hoping they will reconsider. Hugh lets you know who to call.

That’s funny. My Uncle worked at SciFi when that show was on. He basically resurrected it after the network took it off. There are some custom made Joel robots in my Uncle’s office. I’ll have to send you some pictures.

    That would be great!

I resented the Sci-Fi episodes when they first aired because I missed TVs Frank and Dr. Forrester, so I didn’t actually watch many of them back then. But I see now that I was wrong, and some of their best material came in the last few years.
