Ring around…

Date May 29, 2002

The collar? The rosies? No.

I’d like to draw your attention to the web ring links in the lower left of the sidebar. You’ll see I’ve joined a few. I think they are worth mentioning at this time.

Liberal Blogs is pretty self-explanitory. When I’m off looking for people to agree with, I never look here. Liberals rarely agree with each other. But it’s nice to pretend we’re birds of a feather.

1% Bloggers is a somewhat pretentious-soundling ring, and I’m nothing if not pretentious, so it seemed fitting. You have to produce your own content to be a member of this ring. It can’t just be links to personality tests. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, mind.

Obscure Logs is for those who revel in our rebel, non-conformist, unpopular, take-no-prisoners independent publishing nature. At least, until we sell out. (My asking price has dropped radically, BTW. Any takers?)

MetroBlogs is a web ring for people like me who live in the Washington DC area. I tend to refer to it as “Mordor,” though. But don’t be fooled.

The other two links are not really rings per se . They are, respectively, the noticed network and blogsnob. Clicking the magic links there drop you on a random weblog.

The one I haven’t mentioned is my favorite by far: I Talk Back. What a great idea. To be part of this ring, you need to be someone who leaves comments on other people’s sites. I encourage everyone who likes to do this to join up. It’s probably the only one were I read my ring neighbors regularly!

That’s great news - it proves my theory that those who leave thoughtful comments make good writers….
