Ring ring ring ring

Date November 20, 2003

They have been testing the fire alarms in my apartment building for four days.

Yesterday it wasn’t so bad, but today it’s been almost continuous for three hours.

I used to work from home. Now I just try to work from home.

Ahh, nothing like onomatopoeic free verse to brighten up the day. At least it rhymes

We have fire drills today, starting around 10am. In addition to sirens, we have lots of flashing lights in the ceiling and a generic broadcast voice recording that says, “Attention! Attention! Please walk to the nearest exit!” It’s apparently hard to reset, though, so once it goes off it usually trips a few more times during the day.

They had a similar alarm system in the last hotel Chris and I stayed in (in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago). Some TOTAL JACKASS pulled the alarm at 2:30am. It went off several more times during the night as they tried to reset it. Nothing like a restful getaway…. :(

    I feel your pain.
