Here’s your geeky article for the day. I new that new music sounded bad, and I knew that the labels were making it worse by embedding copy-protection in the music. But I didn’t realize that they were actually anihilating the signal.

What’s the point of having the precision of digital recording and mastering if you’re going to throw half of the sound away? (Warning: link has graphics of waveforms.)
