OK, I think it’s absolutely stupid for people to sue McDonald’s because they ate there alot and became fat. What I’m saying is there’s zero case.
But you know what’s even stupider? A federal law making such lawsuits illegal. That’s right. Our senators, who do not have enough to do despite Iraq, TIA, and the looming Social Security crisis, want to make sure that no other companies are subjected to the same kind of silly food-based lawsuits ever again. (Nevermind that the suit was thrown out of court.)
There are even competing bills. This is the kind of foolishness that clogs the arteries of our federal government. “Small government” and “less regulation” indeed.
And no, it wasn’t an Onion article.
