Via “Sadly, No!”:http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/002365.html comes this confusing article. A special Thudfactor prize[1] to the person who best manages to explain “what this article says”:http://www.crosswalk.com/news/weblogs/mohler/?adate=02/17/2006. ‘Cause I sure as hell can’t follow it.
From the article, it appears that Jennifer Roback Morse says “Marriage is an organic, pre-political institution that emerges spontaneously from society” that doesn’t really _need_ Government at all to operate — which is why it’s vitaly important to dispose of no-fault divorce and use governmental legal authority to force people to stay in relationships they don’t want to participate in anymore.
You see where I’m confused. Help me out, people.
She also argues — and this makes my head hurt — that sex (you know, the only biological task of the human organism) is _not_ something that everyone should be entitled to. Eh?
