Where are my representatives?
Atrios makes “some comments about religion”:http://atrios.blogspot.com/2006_03_12_atrios_archive.html#114235025556770982 and the so-called secular conspiracy to destroy it; he points out — yet again — that there are no “secularists” in Congress. You have to run on a religious platform to be elected at the national level.
The same is true, in fact, of many minority religions. It says something that Lieberman is considered an oddity. And it wasn’t too long ago that Catholics didn’t have a chance at office.
I really don’t think there’s a “war against religion.” There’s a culture war of Fundamentalist Christians _against everyone else_.
