Normally I do a little post-processing on pictures. Compensating for poor exposure choices, improving the color balance a bit, trying to get rid of color casts. Except for compression, this photo of the view from the field behind my apartment building is untouched.
This is what I used to see in the morning.
“But Thud,” you say, “surely your commute is not as idyllic as that first scene.” You are right — but it’s not that different.
The field past the fence in that first photograph is cow pasture. Turn a bit and you can see more of the farm.
We are learning a lot about cows just by looking out our back windows. But the real window-watching champions here are our cats, who have been used to living seven floors up in a high-rise overlooking a parking lot. Cat TV is now much more interesting than it used to be.
