Friday 10: AnERUOK, RUOKAnE
You were struck down; it was your doom
Well. Last week we had three participants who guessed five of the lyrics. I guess I was right to think the set was a bit more difficult, but y’all guessed some of the hard ones and left easy ones (in my opinion) on the table.
One of the hard ones is below. For a song with such oblique lyrics it can be a real ear worm, so I apologize in advance.
This was a slow news week so no particular theme.
The rules:
- No Googling (or Binging, or ChatGPTing)
- I need both the artist and the song title
- I’ll accept covers… maybe.
Will you tell us that you’re OK:
- The holiday was fun-packed, the contract still intact
- We meet every day at the same café, 6:30
Me and Mrs. Jones, Billy Paul. Guessed by Sidney - I've been careless with a delicate man
Criminal, Fiona Apple. Guessed by Sidney - Want to know the rest? Hey, buy the rights
How Bizarre, OMC. Guessed by Glen - Say it ain't so, I will not go
All the Small Things, Blink-182. Guessed by Sidney - So, shave your face with some mace in the dark
Loser, Beck. Guessed by Mac Webb - I can’t control my fingers, I can’t control my brain
I Wanna Be Sedated, The Ramones. Guessed by Mike - You’ve got to promise not to stop when I say “when”
Everlong, Foo Fighters. Guessed by Sidney - You said that irony was the shackles of youth
What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?, REM. Guessed by Charlie Hopper - And if your people are the best why are you wearing a vest?
If you need more, Glen’s got ’em!
